There is a lot that the dairy industry can learn from the U.S. Olympic Team. Any Olympian – or any athlete – will tell you they are never satisfied with their current time. They are always working to beat it and get better. Using that same strategy to increase milk production per cow will result in greater profitability on the farm. Profitable dairy farms encourage milk processors to invest in the region, which will provide an even stronger market for the milk supply and ultimately more money in the milk check.
